Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its result. Clay County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email the site, the message is retained so a response can be made. It is kept within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Clay County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Clay County court dockets or personal case records. It provides general direction to the Clay County Clerk of Superior Court, the trial courts, and the statewide North Carolina eCourts Portal. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes available on some pages. Information submitted through those tools is handled under the provider's own privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing practices, rather than this policy. Clay County Court Docket does not control those provider practices.

Links on this site may lead to clerk pages, trial-court services, statewide search services, legal-aid resources, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the outside site's privacy policy applies. Review that policy before providing personal information.

North Carolina court-record access is governed by G.S. 7A-109 and G.S. 132-6. G.S. 132-1.10 addresses removal of qualifying identifiers from publicly available online court-file images, and G.S. 132-6.2 addresses copy media and fees. Those court-record rules do not expand or replace the site-data choices stated here. At a minimum, you may:
- Request a copy of information held about you
- Ask to correct inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion of your data
- Opt out of certain data-processing activities
