Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Clay County Court Docket. By viewing a page, using a search feature, or reading site content, a visitor accepts the conditions below. A visitor who does not agree should not continue using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Clay County Court Docket is privately operated and is not connected with a local, state, or federal government body or court. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) purpose. The site identifies Clay County court-docket and case-record resources only. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, operated independently of government offices and courts. It does not store official dockets or court records, and it cannot retrieve a docket, change a court date, or file a document for a visitor.

The site points readers toward the official Clay County record holders: the Clay County Clerk of Superior Court, Clay County Superior Court and District Court, and the North Carolina eCourts Portal. It may also connect readers with third-party research tools.

2. Informational Use Only

Site content is provided for general information. It describes how Clay County court dockets and case records may be located, but it is not an official docket, a court order, or legal advice. Confirm information that matters with the Clay County Clerk of Superior Court or the court that holds the case.

Public inspection and copies of qualifying court records are subject to G.S. 7A-109 and G.S. 132-6. Online court-file images are also subject to G.S. 132-1.10, while G.S. 132-6.2 addresses copy media and fees.

3. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Violate a federal, North Carolina, or local law
  • Use information from the site to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
  • Use site content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Attempt to enter site systems or obtain access without authorization
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's use

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background reports. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service designed to evaluate job applicants, rental applicants, insurance rates, or creditworthiness. A visitor agrees not to use information from this site or a linked tool to:

  • Make a decision to hire, retain, or dismiss a person
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Assess creditworthiness or set an insurance premium
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated activity

This site cannot be used to obtain a report for any of those purposes.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing on the site is legal advice. It cannot determine how a Clay County case, charge, order, or deadline applies to a particular person. Consult a licensed North Carolina attorney for advice about an individual legal matter.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

Information is supplied "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • Every item is accurate, complete, or current at a given time
  • The site will remain available without interruption
  • The pages will be free of errors, defects, or security issues
  • Partner-tool results will be complete or accurate

Case information changes often. Filings arrive, hearings are set or moved, and matters may be sealed, dismissed, amended, or consolidated. The site is not an official statement from a court or clerk. Verify a docket entry or court date with the court that holds the Clay County case before relying on it.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The site may link to clerk pages, trial-court portals, statewide case-search services, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. A selected link leaves this site for a platform outside its control. Clay County Court Docket is not responsible for that platform's content, data practices, charges, availability, or terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All site text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Clay County Court Docket or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, modified, or used to create derivative material without written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clay County Court Docket is not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including decisions made from site content or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the site harmless from a claim, action, or demand arising from your use of the site or breach of these terms, including reasonable legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. A dispute arising from use of this site must be filed in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.
